Chris Cayzer

Chris Cayzer (born Christopher Ashley Luke Araneta Cayzer on 29 December 1986) is a Filipino-Australian soul, R&B and acoustic singer, actor, DJ and VJ. He is currently actor and performer of GMA Network after he decided to switch from TV5.

Chris Cayzer was born  to Filipino parents Khristine Araneta Cayzer and Reggie Hizon Cayzer. His mom is from Zamboanga and his father is from Manila. He has an older sister, Patricia, who's currently based in London.

Chris was born and raised in Brisbane, Australia.

Back in Australia, the Filipino-Australian worked two jobs. He was a clerk at K-Mart and at the same time a post master in Australia's post office. These two taxing jobs prompted him to take a much needed vacation in the Philippines.

He came with his father to relax in the country and at the same time help out in their family business. What he didn't expect though was to get a break in local show business, as an actor and a recording artist.

Right after graduating from high school, Chris packed his bags and left for the Philippines to continue his tertiary education here, as well as, pursue his musical career.

In 2006, Star Records decided to put up sub-label NuGen Music. Said to cater to more sophisticated pop music. Chris became the first artist to be launched under NuGen Music. In fact, it was Chris’ music that gave Star Records’ the idea of finally establishing a sub-label.

Chris names John Mayer and John Mayer's Room for Squares album as his major musical influence. His other musical influences include Rob Thomas of Matchbox 20, James Taylor and Kenny Rankin. Chris' father Reggie, who was a big fan of jazz artists like George Benson, Lee Ritenour and Kenny Rankin, also brought this to bear on Chris' music. The result is an interesting blend of pop, folk, acoustic and jazz.

The same year he released his debut. The first track off his debut album was "I Got You", which according to Chris is based on experience. Other songs in the album are "Holding Out", "All I Dream About", "Dream Away", "Midsummer Love Affair" and a remake of Lisa Loeb’s "Stay". As way of introducing Chris to the public, Star Records also had him contribute a track (a remake of Neocolours’ "Hold On") in the Gold Bituing Walang Ningning OST.

According to Chris, writing much of his own music gives him the confidence as an artist. He was a host and performer of SOP on GMA Network.

In 2009 he is in the cast of a prime time series on GMA Network called All My Life as part of the main star with Kris Bernal and LJ Reyes.

Chris' second solo album entitled "You're the Only Thing" is due for release the Warner Music Philippines label on August 29, 2009. The first single of the album is a self composed Tagalog song called "Loko".

In 2010, Chris moved to the TV5 network.
